TV- links is a website that put up links of pirated videos for others to watch. Recently the website was shut down and the webmaster was arrested by UK officials. Is this even fair at all? What about the websits that have the actual uploaded videos? Why aren't they shut down? This is wrong!

So what you're saying is that it's unfair to just ban this "tv-links" site, and that ALL of other websites that provide pirated videos should be shut down as well. So are you AGAINST pirated videos or are you FOR pirated videos? (I'm sorry I don't get this very much. Your post is giving me mixed messages)

No I'm against TV Links shut down because he just provided links for the videos and got arrested while some websites actually go to the movie record the video and put it up, but they don't get arrested.

That wasn't my question. -.-'
-----
Okay, changing the message.
If you're AGAINST them shutting down TV Links, you're obviously FOR pirated videos, yes?
Then why are you even bringing up the subject that they should BAN OTHER websites that provide pirated videos.
----
Also, you have to consider that nothing is unfair in this situation. Pirating is ILLEGAL, even though a lot of people do it.

But they are hosting a site for pirated videos, thats illegal. ANYWAY so Nick, are you aware that if they closed all sites with anything related to pirated videos then they would shut down YouTube. Which means in your definition of fairness the is no YouTube. Which means you hate YouTube! HEY EVERYONE! NICK HATES YOUTUBE!
disclaimer: everything in red is exaggerated and I just felt like putting it there. I repeat, EVERYTHING IN RED IS EXAGGERATED!

No I'm not saying that I want the other sites to be shutdown I'm saying that its illegal to arrest him because he just put up links, hence the name tv links. All he did was pick off the links of those google videos and youtube videos and put the links on his site.

So just go to the actual site... I don't get why you are complaining.

Why is it illegal to arrest him? Somebody actually took their time to track him down, close the website, AND arrest them. Surely, the police took some time to see what they were doing was legal or not.
And the last time I checked hosting was ILLEGAL, since you're providing pirated videos either way.
------
Also, they can't shut down youtube, because it's a third party who load them into the site, and youtube can't ban ALL the videos at once.
Mr. TV-Links here actually hosted the links to OTHER sites, therefore HE did it, therefore making HIM the culprit.

But he's telling other people ABOUT them (thus encouraging others to watch pirated videos, which is just as worse as pirating them). The sites are illegal in the first place.

No hes not telling other people about anything he just puts up links. And he has freedom of speech, so he can encourage all he wants. And if I put up a link to a pirated video does that make me a criminal. No!

Well he got arrested, so he must've done something illegal. The police and the government aren't all "corrupted" and "omg evil!" I know you aren't saying that, but you're saying it's illegal (: to arrest him. If they were arresting him "ILLEGALLY" and so many people KNOW ABOUT IT, then he would've been set free already. ;D ---- And another thing! Why does it matter[/u] if the site got banned? Don't be bitching just because it had links to websties that provides videos. It's your fault that you were stupid enough to not write the links down.

No, but he posts links to new videos every day, and most of the videos are from random sites. And it is illegal cuz he did nothing wrong, but the UK is all you did when he didn't

IF IT'S ILLEGAL, THEN PEOPLE WOULD'VE RELEASED HIM ALREADY!
God! For fuck's sake, Nick. The whole of UK isn't "out to get" Mr. TV-Links.
What he did is wrong.
He's telling people about pirated videos, so more people know about them.
He's encouraging the use of pirated videos, therefore he's doing something bad.
---
Okay, it's like this.
Mr.Person: *sees kids/teenagers in a playground* Mr.Person: Hey guys, do you hate your teachers? Teenager 1: Hell yeah! Teenager 2: For the win! Teenager 3: Of course we do! Mr.Person: Okay then, do you want to get rid of them FOREVER by KILLING them?! Teenager 2: w00t. Teenager 3: w00t! Teenager 1: No, I'm not interested. I don't want to do anything illegal. Teenager 1: *leaves* Mr.Person: Okay, I'll tell you how to get murder your teachers. First go to Pico and Crenshaw. You'll see a black and yellow house. Knock five times. You'll see a guy. His name is Big Al. he'll get rid of your teachers for you. Teenager 2: w00t! Teenager 3: w00t!
day later On The News: Two teachers were killed the other day. blah blah blah blah blah.
hours later Mr. Person: *hears knocking on door* Mr. Person: Who is it? Police: It's the police, we're hear to arrest you. Mr. Person: Why? Police: You told two teenagers how to murder someone via hitman, assasin, etc. Therefore you're an accomplice Second Degree murder along with the two teenagers. (Big Al is the person convicted of Second Degree murder, since he's the one who murdered the teachers, and teenagers & mr. person are accomplices for helping them.) Mr. Person: No, it's illegal to arrest me! Police: You helped kill two teachers. Mr. Person: But I only told them HOW to murder them, they didn't HAVE to murder them! Police: Two teachers are dead, nontheless. It wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for you. Mr. Person: *gets arrested* -----
Mr. Person is Mr. TV- Links. He tells people about other pirated websites via his website, thus encouraging people to view pirated videos.

No hes not telling other people about anything he just puts up links. And he has freedom of speech, so he can encourage all he wants. And if I put up a link to a pirated video does that make me a criminal. No! Actually, it DOES make you a criminal depending on the situation. (if you want me to explain situations, then ask me to do so.) ----------- Also there are MANY limitations of freedom of speech, and I suggest you read them before bullshitting about other things. ^^ ------ An example on the limitations of freedom of speech, a white guy yells and screams at some black people at a public park about how black people are "filthy mother fucks and deserve to die." This would be legal, if he didn't yell at them. Since he did yell at them, he's doing a misdemeanor. (public disruption) ---- Oooh, oooh, ooh!!!! Also! Don't bitch that American laws are stupid. (also don't say "i wasn't going to". the stuff previous to this is just a precautionary warning, I'm not saying you're going to. and this stuff in the parenthesis is also a precautionary warning, as well.) American Laws have many exceptions and limitations so they can govern their civilians, people, etc. better and more fairly. They do not focus on YOU completely.

But then anyone who ever posted up a pirated link should get arrested according to your logic.

Then why would they arrest him, and why isn't he set ffree yet, if it isn't against the law.
Also, the UK laws are different from US laws, take that into consideration as well.
